This Red Tail Hawk was perched in this same spot every morning when I showed up to work with the Department of Fish and Wildlife. He quickly became a comfort to me as I paddled my canoe out on the lake, sitting vigil in his tree, as if surveying his world from a lofty throne.

I can’t tell you the story of my life because I’m nowhere near done living it. What I can tell you is that it’s been a fantastic adventure so far. I’ve lived all over Washington State, from Bellingham to Pullman, and had the pleasure of exploring the amazing diversity of this state.
