I found this deceptively clear drop of crystal while walking barefoot on a Fidalgo Bay beach with my mother. Pacific Northwest jellyfish like this one are small and so amazingly transparent they seem harmless, they make you want to reach down and pick them up to explore the ever-present drop of water. But even after they have died, these small crystalline creatures sting, so they are best appreciated at a distance and through the lens of a camera.
I can’t tell you the story of my life because I’m nowhere near done living it. What I can tell you is that it’s been a fantastic adventure so far. I’ve lived all over Washington State, from Bellingham to Pullman, and had the pleasure of exploring the amazing diversity of this state. I love to be outdoors camping, hiking, climbing, biking, snowboarding, and enjoying the beauty of nature. My love for nature is deeply rooted in my family. It seems like we were always on some adventure camping by lakes or rivers, cooking fish we caught that day on the campfire, and sleeping out under the open sky. Photography has allowed me to capture and share many of the awesome sights I’ve seen, and I strive get those photos that take my breath...
